Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to move beyond wire-work, you will experience the thrill of transforming raw, industrial sheet metal into a refined, custom-fit piece of jewelry. Under the expert guidance of professional goldsmith Samonte Cruz, you will gain hands-on experience with the jeweler’s saw and the heat of the torch, leaving with a solid practical foundation in traditional silversmithing and the confidence to keep creating in any metal you choose.

An excellent choice for building your fabrication skills with beautiful, accessible base metals. Includes instruction, studio fees, and up to 10g of copper or brass for in-class use.

💍 The Heirloom: Sterling Silver — $337
Craft a custom, lasting piece in sterling silver. Includes instruction, studio fees, and a premium material kit for a size 8 to 10, 5mm wide, 1.25mm thick (16 gauge) band.

🌟 The Bespoke: 14k Gold — $1,975 (Includes $267 Tuition + $1,708 Gold Material Kit)

  • Register by Date: To ensure your custom stock is delivered in time, Gold registration must be completed at least 14 days prior to class. This allows me to secure your materials at the quoted market rate.
  • Custom Sizing & Width: Pricing is anchored to a size 8, 5mm wide, 1.25mm thick (16 gauge). If you require a larger size or wider band, please contact the studio 14 days in advance for a custom quote.
  • Market Value: Gold is volatile; pricing reflects current rates. A material adjustment may be invoiced prior to class should market prices shift significantly before your metal is secured.
  • Non-Refundable: Once your custom gold stock has been ordered, the material portion of this booking ($1,708) is non-refundable.

Note: If you wish to work with family heirloom gold, please contact the instructor to book a private session. Re-working old gold requires specialized preparation & attention that is outside the scope of this group workshop.

For everyone's safety, only metal purchased from Samonte Cruz Studios or another reputable supplier can be cast, heated, or soldered in the studio. This ensures that the alloys are known and safe for torch work. If you'd like to use your own metal, please contact the instructor to discuss booking a private session.

To ensure you leave with more than just a ring, this intensive series focuses on the core skills of the metalsmith. Working at a professional jeweler’s bench with traditional hand-tools, you will learn:

📐 Precision Measuring & Layout: Calculate exact metal lengths for a perfect, custom fit.

🪚 Sawing & Piercing: Master the jeweler’s saw and bench pin to create clean, intricate shapes from flat sheet metal.

🔥 Torch Work: Gain hands-on experience with annealing and hard-soldering using a professional jeweler's torch.

⚒️ Forming & Shaping: Transform flat metal into a wearable, three-dimensional ring using mandrels, hammers, and mallets.

Polishing & Finishing: Elevate your work using hand tools and the flex shaft for a beautiful, mirror-polish finish.

🤓 Expert Guidance: Receive personalized instruction and feedback in a supportive, small-group environment (max 2–6 students).

🧰 Tools Provided: You will have full access to a professional studio setup, including jeweler’s saws, torches, strikers, tweezers, soldering picks, ring mandrels, gauges, and flex shaft machines.

Sick Policy: If you're sick, please notify the instructor at least 24 hours in advance to receive a credit for a future class.

Class Cancellation or Weather Closures: If a class is canceled due to instructor illness or inclement weather, a make-up class will be scheduled, or a credit will be issued for a future session.
