Step into the world of the professional goldsmith and discover the art of hand-fabrication. In this immersive 4-hour intensive, you will build a custom ring from scratch using traditional techniques and professional tools. You will learn the foundations of the craft, no experience needed, just bring your curiosity.
There is a moment right before you hold the torch for the first time where something shifts. Your nervous system wakes up. You are about to transform raw metal into something wearable, something you made with your own hands.
I have been teaching metalsmithing for over 20 years, and I can tell you: that moment changes how you see yourself. This is not a craft project; it is the beginning of a practice. Walk out with a ring you made and the knowledge to make another one whenever you want.

Register by Date: Gold registration must be completed at least 14 days prior to class to secure materials at the quoted market rate.
Custom Sizing & Width: Pricing is anchored to a size 8, 5mm wide, 1.25mm thick (16 gauge). For larger sizes or wider bands, contact the studio 14 days in advance for a custom quote.
Market Value: Gold is volatile; pricing reflects current rates. A material adjustment may be invoiced prior to class should market prices shift significantly before your metal is secured.
Non-Refundable: Once your custom gold stock has been ordered, the material portion ($1,708) is non-refundable.

- The Jeweler’s Bench: A dedicated station featuring bench pins, jeweler's saws, and a full suite of hand-forming tools (files, pliers, hammers, and mallets).
- Soldering Station: Use of the industry-standard Little Smith Torch (Oxy/Acetylene) with professional ventilation and soldering blocks.
- Finishing & Personalization: Access to Flex Shaft machines and an Inside-Ring Engraver to personalize your piece.
- Precision Layout: Professional measuring tools, including digital calipers, dividers, and ring sizing gauges.
- All Safety Gear (PPE): High-quality N95 masks, safety glasses, and hearing protection provided for use during class.
- Closed-toed shoes (Required)
- Water bottle or tea mug with a lid
- Apron or comfortable clothes that can get dirty
- Hair tie for longer hair
For everyone's safety, only metal purchased from Samonte Cruz Studios or another reputable supplier can be cast, heated, or soldered in the studio. 📅 Class Cancellation & Refund Policy
Registration Hard Close: To ensure all materials are prepared, general registration closes 72 hours prior to class. Late entries are only accepted via the Standby List.
No Refunds: Refunds are not issued for any reason including, including incomplete projects or missed classes.
Sick Policy: If you are sick, please notify the instructor at least 24 hours in advance to receive a credit for a future class.
Instructor Cancellation or Weather: If a class is canceled due to instructor illness or inclement weather, a make-up class will be scheduled, or a credit will be issued for a future session.
