
This fee covers all specialized materials, consumables, and shared studio resources for your 5-hour Sand Casting (Casting 103) session. In this class, students learn the ancient technique of sand casting using Delft clay — a versatile, reusable medium ideal for capturing fine detail in molten metal forms.
Includes:
– Up to 20 grams of brass or copper for in-class casting
– Delft clay and use of sand casting flasks
– Torch fuel for melting metal
– Consumables: solder, saw blades, sandpaper
– Use of tools: crucibles, sprues, tongs, hand tools, safety gear
– Wear and tear on high-heat tools and studio equipment
