Talisman of Resilience: Linglingo Drip Pendant
A sacred amulet born from a history of resistance, honoring every gender and body, and the unyielding truth that your spirit cannot be melted away.
This item is made-to-order, lovingly hand-crafted on Sinixt Territory, in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia. Orders take 4 to 8 weeks. Comes with your choice of sterling silver chain, 20" or 24"; use the drop down menu to select. There's a piece in here with your name on it. ✨
Cast in enduring brass and hand-finished, this talisman centers on the linglingo—a sacred symbol carried for over six centuries by the Cordillera highland people of Northern Luzon. During colonization, these silver and gold amulets were systematically stolen and melted down, turning the survival of this very form into a literal act of resistance. Within its distinct contours, the different shapes mirror the reproductive anatomy of all genders, deliberately holding space for trans, non-binary, and cis bodies alike without exception. By uniting these diverse physical forms into a singular, balanced piece, this redesign transforms an ancient amulet into a profound emblem of diaspora pride and survival. It stands as a timeless reminder that while history may have tried to erase your lineage, your essence remains whole, sacred, and completely unbroken.
More About the Design
✨ They tried to melt us, but they didn’t know our hearts were made of gold. ✨
The Linglingo Drip Pendant is more than jewelry—it’s a talisman of resilience. At its core lies the linglingo, one of the few surviving amulets from the Philippines. Worn for over 600 years by the Cordillera highland people of Northern Luzon—where I have ancestral ties—this symbol has endured the tests of time and colonization.
Once thought to be a fertility charm, the linglingo now represents Filipinx resilience and cultural pride, especially for those of us in the diaspora. For me, as a transgender/non-binary person, it also holds personal meaning, embodying balance and duality with its shapes said to reflect both male and female anatomy.
Similar amulets have been found in Taiwan, Vietnam, and Mindanao, linking our history across borders. Yet, during colonization, much of our gold and silver amulets were stolen, melted down, and even looted from graves to fund Spanish conquests. 💔
This redesign celebrates our collective strength. Despite centuries of attempts to erase our culture, traditions, and sacred objects, we are still here—shining, unbroken, and resilient.
